Accounting Office Cash Handler

Position Overview

This role involves managing all store cash funds with precision in cash handling and record maintenance to uphold financial security and integrity.

Key Responsibilities

• Verify correct cash amounts in the Accounting Office at opening, after deposits, and prior to closing daily; calibrate teller mate equipment weekly or as needed.
• Oversee all store monetary assets, including cash registers, ATMs, self-checkout kiosks, and vending machines.
• Control cash flow by preparing register bags for deposits collected by armored car and reconciling daily business transaction records.
• Organize, prepare, and differentiate financial documentation and logs; distribute pertinent reports and investigate discrepancies like chargebacks and journal account reconciliations.
• Report cash shortages following company guidelines to the Distribution Loss Prevention Manager and management team.
• Constantly observe the area for shrinkage indicators and security threats; notify management and Loss Prevention accordingly.
• Ensure the cash safe is locked when unattended, apply day locks as required, and maintain a safe working environment adhering to company policies.

Compensation

The position starts with an hourly wage of $17.75 CAD.
