Role Overview

This is a full-time, on-site Accountant position based in Parramatta, NSW. The successful candidate will handle financial statement preparation and review, account reconciliation, and general ledger maintenance to support accurate reporting. The role also includes preparing tax returns and BAS statements, supporting tax planning activities, and ensuring compliance with Australian taxation and accounting standards. In addition, the accountant will keep records current, assist with month-end and year-end closing, and respond to client questions with clear financial guidance.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should bring strong technical accounting capability, including preparation of financial statements, general ledger oversight, and account reconciliation. A solid understanding of Australian tax rules and compliance requirements is important, along with experience handling tax returns and BAS work. Familiarity with accounting and bookkeeping platforms such as Xero, MYOB, or QuickBooks, plus good Excel ability for reporting and analysis, will be valuable. The role also calls for strong attention to detail, practical judgment, clear communication, and the ability to manage time well across several client files and deadlines. A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is preferred, and CA/CPA study completed or underway is considered an advantage. Experience in public practice or a similar setting, especially with small and medium business clients, is beneficial.
