Role Description and Responsibilities
As part of the Corporate Finance and Transactions team, you will contribute to delivering expert commercial, financial, and strategic advisory services to a broad client base. This includes work connected to business and ownership strategies and transaction-related activities such as mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, and debt advisory. You will assist the team with detailed financial analysis and collaborate closely with senior professionals and clients.
The team offers nationwide services from offices including Christchurch, covering all industries and client types, from corporate organizations to private companies. A typical day may involve the following:
- Performing comprehensive financial analysis of company operations.
- Engaging in team and client discussions on business value drivers, opportunities for growth, and risk factors.
- Helping prepare insightful reports that communicate findings to clients and stakeholders.
Qualifications and Candidate Profile
- No prior professional experience is necessary, although internships or part-time roles in accounting, finance, customer service, retail, or hospitality are advantageous.
- You should be currently pursuing a bachelor's degree majoring in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related fields such as Data Analytics, Coding, Engineering, Law, or Sciences.
- An analytical mindset with attention to detail and a keen interest in business, commerce, and both quantitative and qualitative analysis is essential.
- Demonstrated adaptability, motivation, strong organizational skills, receptiveness to guidance, and curiosity in problem-solving are valued traits.
