Food Technologist Internship

About the Role

Join e-Galactic's new healthy snacks division as a Food Technologist Intern, working onsite in Pune. You will contribute to setting up and optimizing food processing parameters in preparation for commercial launch. Tasks include managing roasting, seasoning, and packaging to ensure consistent product quality and compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in establishing baseline processing parameters such as dry roasting, heating, and shelf-life optimization before product launch.
• Handle detailed execution of roasting, flavoring, and seasoning to achieve uniform coating, optimal oil adhesion, and consistent flavor profiles during pilot and early mass production runs.
• Monitor critical processing variables like moisture levels, texture preservation, and oil absorption to meet product standards.
• Identify and troubleshoot scaling-related issues including flavor fade, seasoning unevenness, and texture inconsistencies.
• Evaluate packaging performance focusing on moisture barriers, seal strength, gas retention, and shelf-life stability prior to retail distribution.
• Perform rapid root-cause analysis on batch inconsistencies and implement effective corrective measures.
• Support the translation of laboratory-scale recipes into scalable, cost-efficient continuous mass production procedures.
• Prepare comprehensive documentation including trial records, batch sheets, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for production processes.
• Ensure compliance with clean-label principles, FSSAI guidelines, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) throughout operations setup.

Candidate Eligibility

• Currently enrolled in the final year of a Master's degree (M.Sc. or M.Tech) in Food Technology, Food Processing, Food Engineering, or related disciplines.
• Strong grasp of food chemistry, preservation methods, thermal processing, shelf-life testing, and packaging materials.
• Hands-on experience or knowledge regarding seasoning adhesion, roasting profiles, and food production machinery.
• Highly motivated, adaptable individuals who excel in dynamic startup environments and are eager to help build new business verticals.
• Only candidates from Pune available for part-time work can apply.

Additional Information

• Part-time internship starting immediately, lasting 3 months.
• Stipend ranges between INR 10,000 to 15,000 per month.
• The internship includes perks such as certificate issuance, informal dress code, a 5-day workweek, and a potential job offer upon successful completion.
• Upon conversion to a full-time position, the expected salary ranges from INR 240,000 to 300,000 annually.
