About the Role
This position may be located in New York, NY or our Playa Vista campus in California. Applicants in Los Angeles County will be considered fairly under the local fair chance hiring ordinances. Candidates can choose from locations including San Bruno, CA; New York, NY; and Los Angeles, CA.
Role Overview
The Scaled Communications and Escalations team supports all YouTube users globally, including viewers, paid subscribers, creators, artists, and media companies. This role holds ownership of the external support content portfolio for YouTube's user base. Responsibilities entail producing scalable help content in multiple formats such as written pieces, videos, and graphics, aligned with product launches and ongoing improvements. Collaboration with operations will include piloting and deploying AI-powered content solutions. Cross-functional teamwork with Go-To-Market and Support User Journey groups will ensure content aligns with designated product areas. Attention to content accuracy and educating users effectively at scale is vital.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver scalable help content in various formats for new product launches and incremental upgrades.
- Act as the communication specialist and content portfolio lead for assigned product areas, overseeing content projects including architecture enhancements.
- Collaborate with the CMO Operations team to test, refine, and implement AI-driven content workflows and operational enhancements.
- Utilize data such as page views, video engagement, sentiment analysis, and escalation rates to shape and execute content strategies.
- Maintain strong working relationships with Product Activation, Product, Marketing, Legal, and Public Relations teams relevant to product areas.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Four years of experience in public relations, media relations, or internal/executive communications within technology products or services.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in stakeholder management and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Experience in studio or media production settings.
- Familiarity with Content Management Systems and content production tools.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, leveraging data to guide process design and optimization.
- Excellent communication skills with the capability to clearly advocate design decisions and manage stakeholders.
Additional Information
Compensation ranges from $116,000 to $167,000 annually with a 15% bonus target, equity participation, and benefits. Pay is individualized based on relevant skills, experience, and education.
