Overview
This unique role offers the chance to lead the national coordination and enhancement of workforce planning processes within a large, prominent institution in New Zealand. Created following an organisational restructure, the Workforce Planning Lead position aims to enhance consistency, oversight, and prospective staffing deployment across the country, supporting a workforce numbering in the thousands.
The position is a two-year fixed-term contract that reports directly to senior leadership and provides substantial influence to implement operational improvements and establish a sustainable, data-driven workforce planning function.
Role Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee national workforce planning and allocation efforts.
- Generate insights and practical recommendations to guide staffing decisions.
- Identify staffing gaps, risks, workload challenges, and anticipate future workforce requirements.
- Create reporting frameworks that enhance visibility and support informed decision-making.
- Enhance staffing-related systems, processes, workflows, and tools.
- Collaborate closely with senior leaders from operational, human resources, and financial departments.
- Support organisational change initiatives and the development of workforce models.
- Coach and mentor a small team involved in staffing coordination.
