Job Summary
The selected candidate will be responsible for laying out, fitting, and fabricating metal elements while performing specialized certified welding on various metal components. This role includes setting up and operating manual or automated equipment to craft materials within precise tolerances.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute tasks under available supervision by adhering to blueprints, sketches, verbal or written guidelines, and comply with required codes.
- Conduct layout operations as needed.
- Configure specific welding apparatus to carry out certified code welding on assigned materials, adjusting positioners, fixtures, speed, amperage, voltage, and gas flow accordingly.
- Continuously monitor the welding quality through dimensional and visual inspections.
- Identify faults during production and correct them as instructed.
- Perform ancillary duties such as material cutting/burning, handling equipment operation, grinding, buffing, use of hand tools, requesting necessary supplies, and maintaining cleanliness in the working area.
- Support and contribute to the smooth and safe operation of the facility as delegated by supervisors.
- Adhere to and promote company and facility safety programs to ensure a healthy workplace.
- Maintain general housekeeping of assigned work zones.
- Undertake additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Expertise
- Solid proficiency and knowledge in welding techniques.
- Experience with metals such as carbon steel, stainless steel, cast iron, duplex, SS308 & SS316, Monel, Stellite, Inconel 625, aluminum bronze, alloy steel 4130.
- Familiarity with sub-arc welding, dressing/grinding, heating, cutting, and fabrication processes.
- Basic understanding of API standards 6A, 16A, and 16C.
- Good command of English in speech and writing.
- Basic math proficiency.
- Quality control knowledge regarding dimensional checks and use of precision measuring instruments.
Experience and Education
- Minimum of three years of prior welding experience, specifically using TIG and MIG techniques in production or fabrication environments.
- Ability to interpret complex technical drawings is desirable.
- Must hold a certification in welding.
- Ability to read and write route sheets in English.
Physical and Other Requirements
- Light physical exertion required.
- Capable of working in an office environment and operating office equipment as needed.
- May involve travel within the Middle East and GCC countries.
- Employees must ensure they arrive fit for duty, including adequate rest and nutrition to safely and effectively perform responsibilities.
