Role Overview
The Vice President of Global Development will own the company’s international growth agenda. This position is responsible for shaping and executing global development strategy, leading market expansion, managing strategic alliances, guiding investment and development opportunities, integrating global resources, and delivering long-term commercial growth.
The role is centered on building the company’s international presence, strengthening competitive advantage, defining the global operating framework, and improving market reach, operational effectiveness, and business performance across regions.
Key Responsibilities
The role covers the following areas of leadership and execution:
- Design and implement the company’s global development strategy, including medium- and long-range international expansion plans.
- Create the overarching global development framework and set regional footprint strategies and growth targets.
- Align international growth plans with broader corporate strategy and strengthen the company’s global competitiveness.
- Develop go-to-market plans for key countries, regions, and industries, and identify new market-entry opportunities.
- Expand business into new countries and emerging markets while increasing market reach and share.
- Lead global business development efforts, including the acquisition of strategic clients and the identification of commercial opportunities.
- Build and maintain an international partnership network across businesses, industry groups, and relevant institutions.
- Improve the global revenue mix and enhance the quality of international operations.
- Create a structured system for strategic partnerships and collaboration with enterprises, industry organizations, and government bodies.
- Promote channel partnerships, ecosystem development, joint marketing, joint sales, and joint innovation initiatives.
- Identify and evaluate opportunities for global investment, cooperation, and mergers and acquisitions.
- Support investment and capital collaboration projects while assessing strategic and commercial value.
- Integrate global resources to support international expansion and improve returns and synergy.
- Set up a global performance management and analysis framework with clear KPIs for international growth.
- Monitor revenue, profit, market expansion, and growth metrics through dashboards and management reports.
- Support leadership decisions with detailed global business analysis and performance insights.
- Coordinate cross-regional operations between headquarters and regional teams to improve synergy and execution.
- Transfer successful practices across regions and improve overall operational efficiency.
- Build a risk management and early-warning structure for global expansion, including policy, legal, market, and operational risks.
- Prepare response plans to ensure compliant and resilient international operations.
- Lead the digitalization of global business operations through CRM, ERP, BI, and data platforms.
- Strengthen data-driven management, transparency, and decision-making efficiency across international operations.
- Organize the structure for global expansion, manage regional leaders and teams, and support international talent development.
- Build a strong, collaborative, innovative, and globally minded leadership culture.
Job Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree or above in Business Administration, International Business, Economics, Marketing, Strategic Management, Finance, or a related discipline.
- An MBA or other relevant master’s degree is preferred.
- At least 25 years of experience in international business development, global market expansion, corporate strategy, or business development.
- Minimum 10 years of senior management experience at Director or VP level.
- Background in international business leadership at large enterprises or multinational companies.
- Proven experience in global market footprint planning and implementation of internationalization strategies.
- Experience managing global partnerships is required.
- Cross-regional operations experience is preferred.
- Strong capabilities in global strategy, market expansion, business development, partnership management, business model design, resource integration, negotiation, analytics, cross-cultural communication, and team leadership.
