Role Overview

Baya Systems is looking for a Vice President of Finance to join the Executive Leadership Team and lead the company’s global finance function as the organization expands in size, complexity, and commercial sophistication. This is a hands-on leadership role for a senior finance executive who has scaled finance operations in high-growth technology companies.

The role is responsible for building strong financial discipline across revenue recognition, controls, reporting, and global operations, while also helping lay the groundwork for long-term strategic milestones such as a future IPO.

Key Responsibilities

Revenue integrity and accounting judgment

• Take ownership of U.S. GAAP and ASC 606 revenue recognition across all commercial structures, including IP licensing, milestone-based arrangements, and multi-element customer agreements.
• Develop and maintain clear, consistent, and well-supported technical accounting positions.
• Work closely with legal, sales, and business teams to ensure contract terms are structured with revenue recognition and risk considerations in mind.
• Support clean audit outcomes by applying accounting standards carefully and maintaining strong internal review practices.

Controls, risk, and readiness

• Design, implement, and run SOX-aligned internal controls over financial reporting sized appropriately for a pre-IPO business.
• Define accountability for control design, documentation, testing preparedness, and remediation activities.
• Identify, assess, and manage financial, operational, and compliance risks as the company scales.

Scalable finance infrastructure

• Build an audit-ready finance organization with the right people, processes, and systems to support rapid growth and more complex transactions.
• Ensure the finance foundation can support future strategic events, including IPO readiness, without major rework or disruption.
• Oversee finance operations across the U.S., India, and the U.K., while supporting growth in Asia and additional international markets.

Leadership and cross-functional partnership

• Partner with the executive team on financial strategy, planning, and operating decisions.
• Support fundraising activities, investor engagement, and board-level financial reporting.
• Recruit, build, and lead a high-performing global finance team with strong accountability and execution discipline.

Candidate Profile

• At least 12 years of experience leading finance in fast-growing technology companies.
• Proven track record of running finance functions, not only managing reporting activities.
• Strong command of ASC 606 revenue recognition, ideally within IP licensing, software, or similarly complex contract environments.
• Solid experience with SOX-oriented controls, internal control design, and audit preparedness.
• Ability to build finance platforms that can scale for long-term growth and IPO readiness.
• Comfort working with global teams and international operations.
• Background in semiconductor, semiconductor IP, or deep-tech businesses is advantageous but not mandatory.
