Job description

About the Role

Join our team at Performance Foodservice as a Truck Washer working Monday through Friday from 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM, with a competitive pay rate of $21.00 per hour. This position contributes importantly to maintaining the hygiene and safety of our fleet, supporting the broader food distribution system.

Responsibilities

  • Examine trucks, machinery, vehicles, and equipment to ensure cleanliness, detect damage, and verify adherence to applicable standards and regulations.
  • Prepare parts and vehicles for cleaning by soaking or rinsing them in solutions or water manually or with the assistance of lifting devices.
  • Clean surfaces by scrubbing, scraping, spraying with appropriate agents including disinfectants and abrasives to maintain cleanliness and safety.
  • Wash and polish vehicle windows for clear visibility and upkeep.
  • Monitor cleaning equipment operation, halting machines or alerting supervisors immediately if malfunctions are identified.
  • Apply lubricants and perform minor maintenance or adjustments on machinery and vehicles using handheld tools to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Manage and restock supplies inventory required for cleaning operations.
  • Undertake additional related tasks as assigned to support company objectives.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent practical experience is required.
  • Experience ranging from zero to three months in manufacturing, production, or warehouse settings is acceptable.
