Job description

Overview

The Energy and Industrial division at UGL is actively seeking experienced Trenching Operators to join their workforce. This is a Fly-In Fly-Out (FIFO) role based on a 3 weeks on/1 week off roster, located in Adelaide, South Australia.

Key Responsibilities and Skills

  • Operate trenching machinery proficiently on construction sites.
  • Dig trenches and assist with the installation of electrical cables and piping systems.
  • Read and interpret site plans and accurately locate underground services before digging operations commence.
  • Work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety, quality, and environmental standards on site.

Experience and Qualifications

  • At least two years of practical experience as a trenching operator or in a related role within construction or industrial environments.
  • Competent in operating trenchers and other heavy machinery, holding relevant plant operation certifications or tickets.
  • Possession of a Medium Rigid (MR) vehicle licence.
  • Strong knowledge of excavation techniques and underground service safety.
  • Completed Construction White Card certification.
