About Prolam
Prolam has been New Zealand's leading manufacturer of engineered structural timber since 2002, specializing in producing glulam beams and posts distinguished for their quality and customization. The company is expanding and is seeking talented individuals to join their workforce in Motueka, Tasman.
Role Overview
The positions involve operating and setting up various machines to manufacture superior timber products. These are hands-on roles playing a crucial part in New Zealand's engineered timber sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate machinery safely to meet production goals.
- Manage laminating machines to produce beams according to detailed specifications.
- Monitor product quality continuously and make necessary adjustments to ensure standards are met.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols and contribute to maintaining a safe workplace environment.
- Collaborate effectively with the team to ensure smooth production processes.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum of one year's experience operating machines within a factory or timber production environment, with machine set-up and laminating experience seen as highly beneficial.
- Completion of full or partial timber machining qualifications are preferred.
- Strong focus on safety, consistently following procedures and looking out for colleagues.
- High attention to detail with a dedication to quality output.
- Reliable and communicative team player with a strong work ethic.
- Right to live and work in New Zealand mandatory.
- Pre-employment drug and alcohol screening compulsory.
Work Conditions and Benefits
- Work a minimum of 44.5 hours per week.
- Occasional weekend shifts compensated at time and a half.
- Hourly pay between NZD 26 and NZD 35, commensurate with skills, experience, and qualifications.
