Role overview
This position involves managing a digital telephone switchboard and acting as the first point of contact for members of the public. The role requires a courteous, professional approach when dealing with both external callers and colleagues within the organisation.
Key duties
- Handle incoming calls through the digital switchboard and connect callers to the right person or department.
- Serve as the initial communication point for the public, maintaining a supportive and polite manner at all times.
- Follow established procedures for emergencies, alarm activation, and contact with staff on out-of-hours duty.
- Provide flexible cover across a 24/7 schedule when needed.
Experience and training
Previous telephony experience and basic computer literacy would be an advantage, although full training will be provided to the selected candidate.
