Technician, Maintenance (CNG)

Job Overview

This role involves executing various maintenance activities focused on company assets related to Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and Hydrogen Refuelling facilities. The technician will inspect, diagnose, and carry out preventive, predictive, corrective, and emergency repairs for equipment at CNG and Hydrogen stations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform emergency and corrective maintenance on electromechanical components such as CNG compressors, electric motors, MCC rooms, priority panels, dispensers, cooling circuits, PLC & power panels, supervisory panels, and trailer-mounted gas systems.
• Address complaints from end users by visiting sites to assess problems and executing necessary repairs.
• Oversee and follow up on maintenance contractors to ensure compliance with quality standards and successful resolution of issues.
• Reinspect sites after maintenance works to verify problem resolution; prepare and submit reports to the Maintenance Supervisor.
• Review preventive maintenance reports from contractors on equipment like chillers, recommend replacements if needed, and ensure consistent service quality.
• Monitor third-party contractors performing various maintenance tasks, conduct daily inspections of electromechanical systems, and validate contractor checklists according to scheduled maintenance plans.
• Guide contractors using as-built drawings to access utilities necessary for maintenance and repairs.
• Procure urgent small maintenance items locally using petty cash.
• Handle maintenance complaints logged through the SAP system for CNG assets.
• Perform routine tests as part of the predictive maintenance schedule.
• Respond promptly to breakdown situations, complete repairs safely, and minimize downtime.
• Strictly adhere to safety precautions throughout all maintenance activities.
• Maintain organized filing of all maintenance records including preventive, predictive, corrective, and emergency work; cover for other technicians during their absence.
• Respond to end users’ queries and requests when the supervisor is unavailable.
• Provide on-the-job training aligned to Competency Based Training programs supporting UAE nationalization efforts.
• Maintain and ensure the proper working condition of company tools, safety equipment, and gear; arrange for repairs or replacements as needed.
• Complete maintenance tasks within assigned time frames; communicate with the supervisor if additional resources are needed.
• Contribute ideas for continuous improvement of processes, procedures, and equipment functionality.
• Comply with health, safety, environment, and sustainability policies, participate in emergency response duties as a team member.
• Keep work areas clean and tidy before, during, and after jobs in accordance with hygiene and housekeeping standards.
• Collect technical field data and contribute to preparation of progress reports, method statements, and near-miss incident reports.

Qualifications and Experience

• A Diploma in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Mechanical disciplines, or alternatively a High School diploma.
• At least 4 years of experience in CNG or Natural Gas maintenance within the oil and gas sector for diploma holders; or a minimum of 6 years if holding a high school certificate.
