About the role

Te Aka Mātuatua School of Science is looking for a practical, hands-on technician to support teaching and learning within a collaborative technical team. The role focuses on keeping laboratories safe, orderly, and ready for use, while contributing to an efficient teaching environment.

Core work includes laboratory cleaning, washing glassware, managing waste, monitoring stock, and helping maintain laboratory spaces and equipment. You will also support teaching-related technical tasks and provide back-up assistance to the Science Store, including receiving, storing, issuing, and tracking laboratory consumables, equipment, and teaching materials.

This is a full-time position of 37.5 hours per week, based at Hillcrest Campus in Hamilton.

The salary range for the role is NZD 60,046 to NZD 72,636 per year, depending on the skills, knowledge, and experience you bring.

Strong communication and ICT skills are important, along with a solid understanding of health and safety practices.
