Job description
About the Role
Sourcing Connections seeks a dynamic Supply Chain Director to spearhead a transformative phase at a rapidly expanding trading company operating in a commodity-linked industry with multiple sites. This leadership position offers full accountability for procurement, logistics, and warehousing across a hub-and-spoke system comprising three primary locations and several satellites.
Main Responsibilities
- Evaluate and redesign the balance between in-house operations and 3PL/4PL providers for fleet and warehousing within the initial months.
- Unify the Logistics and Procurement teams into a cohesive, high-performing unit.
- Establish safety stock policies for products indexed to commodity prices and reduce excess and obsolete inventory.
- Lead the digital shift from monthly reporting cycles to real-time dashboards and portals, necessitating strong ERP knowledge; familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Collaborate closely with sales and commercial teams to greatly expedite customer response times and support an evolving sales strategy.
- Design a supplier risk mitigation strategy that includes lead and backup suppliers to manage geopolitical and port-related disruptions.
- Create an overarching supply chain strategy covering operating models, governance, and digital roadmaps, targeting executive approval within a year.
- Ensure compliance with the evolving regulations of Saudi Arabia.
- Oversee budgeting related to systems and capabilities, including CAPEX proposals for warehousing, subject to executive endorsement.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is a proactive, commercially savvy supply chain leader experienced in complex multi-site environments, comfortable handling both strategic and operational aspects. Fluency in both English and Arabic is essential to succeed in this role.
