Superflex Roadside Patrol Mechanic - Darlington

Overview

Join RAC as a Superflex Roadside Mechanic, delivering flexible and dependable vehicle assistance to the community around Darlington and nearby towns including Bishop Auckland, Newton Aycliffe, Crook, Spennymoor, Shildon, and Barnard Castle. This role offers rewarding work with varied shifts outside typical 9-5 hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.

Work Schedule and Location

• Average 40 working hours per week scheduled throughout the year.
• Roster provided seven days in advance with confirmed core hours given three days beforehand.
• Work locally within the Darlington cluster, starting and ending days at home for optimized member service.

Responsibilities

The role involves responding flexibly to a range of roadside issues, from fault diagnostics to fixing flat tyres and batteries, ensuring members are back on the road efficiently. Mechanics manage their own equipment and vehicle supplies, carry out accurate job reporting, and deliver excellent customer care under varied conditions.

Qualifications and Experience

• Either an NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Light Vehicle Maintenance plus at least two years of relevant experience, or
• A minimum of five years working experience as a vehicle technician or mechanic.
• Must hold a full UK driving licence with fewer than six penalty points.
