About The Shalimar Hotel

Role Overview
The Steward position is a full-time, on-location job based at The Shalimar Hotel, Mumbai. The primary duty involves maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene within the kitchen and food service zones. Tasks include washing dishes, cleaning kitchen tools and appliances, managing waste appropriately, and supporting the Food & Beverage team by organizing and stocking utensils, crockery, and cutlery. Additional responsibilities may include assisting with basic food preparation duties, adhering strictly to safety and sanitation protocols, and collaborating effectively with teammates to ensure smooth guest service.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Excellent customer service and communication skills for effective interaction with colleagues and support of guest needs.
- Understanding of Food & Beverage operations and procedures typical within hotel or restaurant environments.
- Ability to adhere to training, hygiene, and safety standards, with eagerness to learn established standard operating procedures.
- Meticulous attention to detail, physical endurance, and capability to perform efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen setting.
- Previous experience in hospitality roles such as kitchen stewarding or housekeeping is advantageous.
- Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices; possession of formal certification is beneficial.
- Willingness to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays, as per operational demands.
