Job Overview
This role offers STEM professionals, particularly those with engineering backgrounds, a unique opportunity to advance from their current career into the FBI as Special Agents. The transition is more than a role change—it enables the enhancement of technical skills through challenging investigations that address national security concerns including cyberattacks, terrorism, and fraud.
Responsibilities
- Lead investigations involving breaches of federal statutes, cybersecurity issues, and threats to public safety.
- Apply sound judgment, adaptability, and resourceful problem-solving to meet the varied demands of investigative work.
- Establish and sustain strong collaborative relationships with law enforcement partners across federal, state, local, tribal, territorial, and international jurisdictions.
- Maintain excellent physical fitness levels necessary for active law enforcement duties.
Qualifications and Eligibility
- U.S. citizenship is mandatory.
- Ability to obtain Top Secret Sensitive Compartmented Information clearance is required.
- Willingness to travel as operational needs dictate.
- Meet FBI employment criteria and submit all pertinent application documents, including a resume limited to two pages and college transcripts to verify education credentials.
- Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited U.S. college or university, ideally in engineering or a related STEM discipline.
Compensation
Compensation ranges between $93,749 and $133,200 annually. Actual salary is influenced by base, locality, and availability pay policies.
