Spatial Designer

Role Overview

The Spatial Designer will be charged with creating conceptual designs and detailed layouts for a variety of environments such as commercial, hospitality, cultural, and mixed-use spaces. Daily activities encompass analyzing client requirements, performing site and user studies, preparing mood boards, sketches, and 3D visualizations, and working closely with architects, interior designers, and technical consultants to enhance design solutions.

Responsibilities also include generating clear and comprehensive design documentation, managing coordination of materials and finishes, and aiding project teams during presentations and reviews to preserve the intended design throughout execution. This position is full-time and located on-site in Singapore, requiring active involvement in team collaboration, client consultations, and site inspections as necessary.

Candidate Qualifications

• Strong capabilities in spatial design including concept ideation, spatial planning, and experience in interior, experiential, or environmental design sectors.
• Proficiency in essential design and visualization software, such as AutoCAD, Revit or comparable BIM tools, SketchUp, Rhino, Adobe Creative Suite, along with rendering software like Enscape or V-Ray.
• Competence in conducting design research, interpreting client and user needs, transforming these insights into coherent design strategies and narratives.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, ability to prepare persuasive presentations, clearly explain design decisions, and collaborate in multidisciplinary settings.
• Good understanding of materials, finishes, lighting principles, and basic construction details to ensure spatial design feasibility and quality.
• A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Interior Design, Spatial Design, Architecture, Environmental Design, or related fields.
• A portfolio that demonstrates completed or conceptual projects focusing on experiential and context-aware design approaches.
• Keen attention to detail, strong organizational abilities, and capacity to handle multiple deadlines within dynamic project environments.
• Knowledge of regional building regulations, codes, and sustainability issues relevant to spatial design is an added advantage.
• Current residence in Singapore or Malaysia is required.
• Familiarity with SketchUp and/or 3DMax software.
