Role Overview

As a Skilled Joiner, you will be part of a specialized team responsible for fabricating, assembling, installing, and repairing interior and structural components throughout naval ships. Key Responsibilities

  • Fabricate, assemble, install, and repair bulkheads, wood and metal articles, interior finishes, and cabin accessories.
  • Construct and install wood and metal deck structures, partitions, furniture bases, racks, bins, decorative ceilings, false decks, and other outfitting components.
  • Read and follow plans, drawings, and specifications to maintain quality, accuracy, and structural integrity.
  • Use woodworking equipment, carpentry and metalworking tools, and power tools to perform detailed joiner tasks.
  • Work in various shipboard environments and be prepared to work any shift in a 24/7 manufacturing operation.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a joiner or in related fields such as shipfitting, carpentry, or sheetmetal work.
  • Ability to pass the Tacker Certification test.
  • Capability to fabricate, install, repair, and assemble wood and metal joiner components.
  • Skills to build and install bulkheads, deck structures, furniture, finishes, and outfitting systems.
  • A commitment to safety, precision, craftsmanship, and teamwork in complex shipyard environments.
  • High school diploma or equivalent and Master Tech Certification are advantageous but not required.
