Role Overview

As a Skilled Joiner, you will be part of a specialized team responsible for fabricating, assembling, installing, and repairing interior and structural components throughout naval ships. Your work includes constructing bulkheads, deck structures, furniture, finishes, and outfitting items, bringing quality and durability to every part of the vessel.

Key Responsibilities

• Fabricate, assemble, install, and repair bulkheads, wood and metal articles, interior finishes, and cabin accessories.
• Construct and install wood and metal deck structures, partitions, furniture bases, racks, bins, decorative ceilings, false decks, and other outfitting components.
• Read and follow plans, drawings, and specifications to maintain quality, accuracy, and structural integrity.
• Use woodworking equipment, carpentry and metalworking tools, and power tools to perform detailed joiner tasks.
• Work in various shipboard environments and be prepared to work any shift in a 24/7 manufacturing operation.

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a joiner or in related fields such as shipfitting, carpentry, or sheetmetal work.
• Ability to pass the Tacker Certification test.
• Capability to fabricate, install, repair, and assemble wood and metal joiner components.
• Skills to build and install bulkheads, deck structures, furniture, finishes, and outfitting systems.
• A commitment to safety, precision, craftsmanship, and teamwork in complex shipyard environments.
• High school diploma or equivalent and Master Tech Certification are advantageous but not required.

Compensation and Advancement

Earn up to $35.99 per hour, depending on experience and skill level. Additional opportunities include overtime work, training, and long-term career advancement.
