About the role
Synlait Milk Limited is seeking an experienced Senior Warehouse Operator who is ready to step into a more senior position. In this role, you will help Shift Leaders oversee day-to-day warehouse activity, keeping operations running efficiently and smoothly. The position suits someone with a strong understanding of logistics and supply chain workflows who can juggle multiple priorities and stay composed in a busy environment.
The role follows a 4-on, 4-off rotating roster made up of 2 day shifts, 2 night shifts, and 4 days off, offering a strong work-life balance.
Key responsibilities
- Guide and support the training of junior team members while helping build a positive, safe, and productive workplace.
- Identify operational issues, troubleshoot problems quickly, and reduce disruption and delay wherever possible.
- Pick up and deliver product samples as needed.
- Use a forklift to move raw materials to the production line.
- Store and arrange finished products in the warehouse according to safety and storage procedures.
- Work with semi-automatic pallet wrapping machinery.
- Help load and unload trucks and containers when required.
- Keep the warehouse tidy, organised, and compliant with site standards.
What you will bring
Synlait is looking for a warehouse professional with forklift credentials who performs well in a high-paced setting and takes a practical, hands-on approach.
- At least 2 years of forklift operating experience, ideally on 3.5–5 tonne equipment.
- Hands-on experience using warehouse systems such as SAP and RF scanners.
- Background in supporting team leadership and coordination, including assisting shift leaders to improve team output.
- Comfort working a rotating shift pattern of 2 days and 2 nights.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive attitude toward spotting and solving problems.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well both independently and with others.
