Role Overview
The Senior Director of Sales for Europe holds a pivotal commercial leadership position, reporting directly to the VP GCO and Business Unit Leaders. This role is responsible for formulating and implementing commercial strategies to drive sustained growth and profitability across the European market. The position demands both strategic vision and tactical execution to align cross-business priorities, optimize resources, and strengthen the company’s competitive position.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead and drive the European commercial growth agenda by uniting priorities in Biomarkers, Niche Diagnostics, Analyzers, and Automation to boost revenue and market share.
- Create and implement a multi-year regional strategy focusing on growth vectors, investment priorities, and resource allocation for maximizing long-term value.
- Manage and inspire a sales organization of over 50 employees to consistently achieve revenue targets exceeding $100 million, while fostering a high-performance culture and leadership pipeline.
- Coordinate marketing, commercial operations, quality assurance/regulatory affairs, and communications teams to deliver a seamless customer experience, aiming to increase the Customer Allegiance Score.
- Foster cross-functional collaboration with IT, portfolio management, pricing, finance, and customer service, as well as country and division leaders to capitalize on synergies.
- Monitor and influence market trends, customer requirements, funding, and competition to identify strategic growth opportunities.
- Provide strategic and analytical leadership including market analysis, competitive benchmarking, customer segmentation, and financial modeling to support executive decisions.
- Translate financial data into growth plans by partnering closely with finance to identify value drivers and prioritize investments.
- Implement a data-driven, metrics-focused operational rhythm to enforce accountability and continuous improvement.
- Design and develop an agile, customer-oriented commercial organization emphasizing sales leadership and enterprise-wide solutions.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in diagnostics, life sciences, or related fields.
- Leadership experience in sales within healthcare environments is highly valued.
- Sales experience in the in vitro diagnostics (IVD) sector is preferred.
- Proven track record in strategy development, business growth, and managing profit and loss.
- Experience working in global, matrixed organizations with strong influencing skills without direct authority.
- Exceptional customer orientation and ability to maintain executive-level relationships.
- Analytical thinking with the ability to manage complex problems, prioritize, and develop clear strategies.
- Strong financial literacy and critical thinking skills.
- Exemplary leadership qualities and behaviors with passion for advancing organizational goals.
- Proficient communication and facilitation skills to inspire and drive process improvements.
- Demonstrated ability to lead sales results effectively from both business and cultural perspectives.
- Willingness to travel up to 40% as per business needs.

The role follows a standard workweek from Monday to Friday and is based in an office environment located in Ireland.
