Position Overview
Based in Wellington, this full-time, permanent opportunity with the Ministry of Health New Zealand offers a chance to impact public health directly through regulatory work in the Medsafe Compliance Branch. The role demands agility and clear decision-making to address complex challenges involving therapeutic products, enhancing health system trust.
Key Duties
- Lead robust investigations into regulatory complaints and product quality concerns to uphold public safety.
- Provide expert, reliable advice on therapeutic products and compliance to various stakeholders inside and outside the Ministry.
- Manage important documentation such as Official Information Act (OIA) requests, ministerial inquiries, and briefings, ensuring precision and timely delivery.
- Promote continuous enhancement of programs, systems, and operational processes.
- Mentor colleagues, foster collaboration, and build strong relationships within the Ministry and the broader health sector.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Relevant qualifications in pharmacy or a scientific field with substantial knowledge of medicines.
- Good understanding or willingness to develop expertise in therapeutic product regulation and quality assurance frameworks.
- Strong analytical skills and sound judgement to distill complex issues into practical guidance.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of simplifying intricate topics for diverse audiences.
- Highly organized and relationship-oriented, experienced in delivering quality results under pressure.
