Role Overview
The Senior Accountant role is a full-time, on-site position located in Dubai. The incumbent will oversee key financial accounting and reporting functions, including the preparation and scrutiny of financial statements, management of general ledger accounts, and accurate journal entry postings. Responsibilities encompass managing monthly, quarterly, and annual closing cycles, reconciling bank and other accounts, and monitoring cash flow. Furthermore, the role involves supervising accounts payable and receivable, assisting with budgeting and forecasting activities, and ensuring compliance with local accounting standards, taxation rules, and internal policies. Collaboration with internal departments and external auditors to improve financial processes and furnish management with insightful financial analysis and recommendations is also pivotal.
Qualifications and Skills
- Comprehensive expertise in financial accounting and reporting, including general ledger oversight, journal entries, and preparing financial statements.
- Proficiency in budgeting, forecasting, financial data analysis, and variance reporting to aid decision-making.
- Hands-on experience managing accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and cash flow monitoring.
- Thorough knowledge of UAE accounting standards, taxation laws, compliance obligations, and audit processes.
- Advanced proficiency in accounting and ERP software, coupled with strong capabilities in spreadsheet use and financial modeling.
- Meticulous attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and ability to adhere to deadlines consistently.
- Effective communication and interpersonal capabilities to facilitate collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; holding professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, or CMA is beneficial.
- Several years of progressively responsible accounting experience, preferably within professional services, consulting, or companies offering multiple services.
- Capability to work on-site in Dubai while maintaining ethical conduct, confidentiality, and integrity in managing financial data.
