Role Overview
The Sales Manager will be responsible for acquiring and engaging single-outlet independent restaurants within an assigned city. This person will be the main point of contact for restaurant partners, learning how their business works, identifying the challenges they face, and creating partnerships that help improve orders, visibility, and customer engagement.
This is a consultative, field-based role that calls for adaptability, strong ownership, and a genuine interest in helping partners succeed. It also offers the chance to sharpen consultative selling capabilities, understand restaurant operations closely, and build a base for long-term career growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle a defined territory and build productive, long-term relationships with the assigned restaurant partners.
- Spend significant time in the field, meeting restaurant owners in person, demonstrating products, reviewing ROI, and explaining the value of partnering with Swiggy.
- Use a consultative sales approach by asking the right questions about current channels, delivery setup, marketing spend, and growth goals, and then presenting Swiggy’s offerings as practical solutions.
- Manage the full partner journey each month, including pitching, negotiation, activation, and continued support.
- Monitor adoption metrics, identify growth blockers, investigate issues, and take corrective action based on data.
- Take ownership of revenue targets in the assigned territory and maintain a clear pipeline and conversion tracking.
- Work confidently with Excel, Google Sheets, and WSP for daily city-level and central reporting.
- Keep up with restaurant industry trends, competitor activity, and local market changes, and share field insights that can help shape product decisions.
- Attend 80 to 90 in-person meetings with restaurant partners every month.
Candidate Profile
The role suits someone with 0 to 2 years of experience in B2B sales, field sales, or business development, ideally from FMCG, food & beverage, or the hotel industry. Candidates should have a history of achieving or surpassing targets and managing their own sales pipeline.
The restaurant business runs throughout the day and night, so the person in this role must be ready to take full ownership of the assigned portfolio’s growth. Strong comfort with data is essential, especially advanced Excel usage such as pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and dashboard creation without assistance.
