Role overview
The Sales Development Representative sits at the front line of the Shopify Plus sales organization. In this position, you will identify high-potential ecommerce merchants, spark interest through thoughtful outreach, and help move conversations from initial curiosity to a clear understanding of how Shopify Plus can support their growth. This is a remote role, and applicants must already be based in Singapore.
Core responsibilities
- Spot merchant prospects that are a strong fit and reach out with persuasive messaging across email, phone, and WhatsApp to open conversations.
- Qualify potential merchants for Shopify Plus and keep the sales pipeline stocked with well-matched opportunities.
- Build working knowledge of ecommerce in Greater China, including the key market players and how Shopify can support them.
- Create a strong first impression by delivering a merchant experience that feels helpful, relevant, and professional.
- Keep new and existing leads engaged through Salesforce and maintain disciplined CRM activity.
- Work with sales representatives and account executives on account planning for target accounts within your territory.
- Help strengthen team culture and reinforce Shopify values across the expanding APAC region.
- Collaborate with colleagues across regions such as Japan, India, Southeast Asia, North America, and EMEA to improve processes and evolve the role.
- Partner with marketing, channel sales/partnerships, and direct sales teams to create meaningful engagement and nurture merchant interest.
- Develop your skills through coaching, special projects, and ongoing growth work that supports top-of-funnel performance in APAC.
