Position Overview

The Safety Coordinator, also serving as a Recreation Aide, plays a crucial role in fostering a secure, supportive, and nurturing school environment. This position mainly involves overseeing student activities during lunch and recess, along with assisting in meal service, parent communication, student pick-up valet management, and traffic control during after-school hours.

Primary Responsibilities

• Monitor student behavior and safety during lunch and recess, promoting adherence to Equitas Academy values.
• Supervise students during other school transitions such as moving between classes and restroom visits.
• Maintain high standards for student conduct and academic focus.
• Engage actively in professional development opportunities aimed at enhancing school culture.
• Support classroom teachers with student supervision during school hours.
• Assist with office administrative duties as needed.
• Contribute to campus beautification initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and nutritional policies and procedures.
• Communicate consistently and openly with staff, families, and other stakeholders.
• Manage and supervise the valet system for student drop-off and pick-up, ensuring safety and organization.
• Provide assistance to families and visitors regarding alternative parking arrangements.
• Assist the School Operations Manager with special projects, particularly related to after-school activities.
• Complete additional tasks as assigned by the Principal and Operations Manager.

Minimum Requirements

• Previous experience in working with students is preferred.
• Fluency in Spanish (bilingual) is mandatory.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required; some college or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certifications must be obtained within 60 days of employment.
• Successful completion of criminal background clearance, fingerprinting, and TB test.

Compensation and Benefits

The position offers a starting wage of $20 per hour and is classified as full-time hourly employment with benefits included.

Working Hours and Schedule

The role operates from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
