Key Responsibilities
- Support clients by conducting due diligence, background investigations, and reputational risk analyses to identify potential concerns related to integrity, reputation, and historical activities of individuals or entities.
- Utilize open-source research, public records, commercial databases, and registries to detect risk indicators such as adverse news, legal matters, sanctions, financial instability, and ESG-related violations.
- Examine ownership frameworks, beneficial ownership, politically exposed persons (PEPs), corporate affiliations, and other critical risk factors.
- Analyze and review organizational documents including registrations, annual reports, codes of conduct, certifications, and financial statements.
- Compile detailed reports that summarize insights, rate risks, highlight exceptions, and propose recommended mitigation strategies.
- Identify and escalate risk alerts, advising on mitigation or acceptance approaches aligned with client policies.
- Evaluate third-party risks regarding modern slavery, forced labor, and human rights issues through document reviews and adverse media checks.
- Contribute to training sessions on ESG risks, responsible sourcing, and modern slavery for internal teams and clients.
- Stay current on the evolving TPRM regulatory landscape, best practices, and global enforcement actions.
Qualifications and Skills
- 1 to 4 years of experience in third-party due diligence, compliance risk assessment, or vendor risk management, preferably within consulting or multinational contexts.
- Familiarity with the full vendor risk management lifecycle including onboarding, screening, evaluation, and ongoing monitoring.
- Proficiency with risk research platforms such as World-Check, Dow Jones, LexisNexis, Orbis, RDC, or equivalents.
- Basic knowledge of corporate ownership structures, identification of ultimate beneficial owners, PEP rules, and control mapping.
- Understanding of global sanctions regimes, watchlists, financial health signals, ESG concerns, and modern slavery/human rights due diligence.
- Strong professional communication and report-writing skills to convey complex information clearly and effectively.
- Detail-focused with excellent analytical, organizational, and prioritization competencies.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and familiarity with due diligence platforms such as Aravo, Coupa, or ProcessUnity is advantageous.
- Bachelor's degree in economics, international relations, law, business, risk management, or relevant discipline.
- Certifications like CAMS or CFE are preferred but not mandatory.
