Role Overview

The role of Reporter is a full-time, on-location position based in Accra. The individual will be responsible for gathering and developing news content focusing on ru.taxi’s business activities, client experiences, driver-related developments, and the impact on local communities. Daily tasks involve conducting interviews, validating facts, and creating precise, straightforward written reports suitable for both internal stakeholders and external audiences.

The Reporter will cover events, track local transportation news, and work collaboratively with departments including operations, marketing, and customer support to obtain pertinent material. Additionally, the role may involve creating multimedia content such as photographs, short video clips, and social media posts that align with company communication strategies.

Qualifications and Skills

• Proven expertise in reporting and news writing with the capability to deliver factual, clear, and captivating stories.
• Excellent communication and writing abilities for conducting interviews, drafting internal summaries, and publishing public content.
• Basic proficiency in multimedia tools including photography, video recording, or audio capture to complement reporting.
• Strong attention to detail, with the ability to fact-check and exercise sound editorial decisions.
• Good knowledge of local news and transportation sector developments in Accra and surrounding areas.
• Comfortable working within on-site environments, managing deadlines efficiently, and engaging with cross-functional teams.
• Education in Journalism, Communications, Media Studies, or related disciplines is preferred.
• Previous experience in newsroom settings, reporting, or professional communications is advantageous.
