Role Overview
The Assistant Controller is responsible for overseeing daily accounting functions, ensuring financial reports adhere to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise accounting personnel and oversee their work activities.
- Review and verify accounting entries for accuracy.
- Lead initiatives to improve processes, enhancing operational efficiency and precision.
- Interpret complex technical accounting matters.
- Support implementation of financial systems and tools.
- Manage core processes such as month-end close, cash control, and compliance reporting.
Qualifications
- Minimum seven years of relevant experience in banking accounting.
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills.
- CPA certification is preferred.
- Strong command over Microsoft Excel and accounting software including Oracle ERP and Fusion GL.
- Analytical mindset with problem-solving capabilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related discipline.
- Previous management experience is required.
