About Gersh Autism Academy
For over three decades, Gersh Autism has supported students on the autism spectrum, ages 5 to 21, across the U.S. and Puerto Rico. Our specialized K-12 schools deliver individualized education plans tailored to each student's unique ways of learning. We complement academic instruction with a range of therapeutic services, including speech, physical, and occupational therapies, and provide vocational training opportunities for older students. Our collaborative approach involves families to promote academic, social, and emotional development, preparing students for future personal and professional success.
Role Overview
The Regional Vice President is a key senior leader responsible for overseeing the operational and organizational success of all school sites within the region. This position demands strong strategic, operational, and financial leadership to ensure efficient, compliant, and high-quality program delivery. The leader fosters alignment and motivation among diverse teams to meet shared objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic direction and operational oversight for all regional program sites.
- Hold full accountability for site performance, including achievement of organizational goals and adherence to regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with site and school leaders to enforce consistent application of organizational policies and standards.
- Manage regional budgeting, staffing, and resource distribution to optimize operational effectiveness.
- Develop and nurture relationships with families, local community entities, referral sources, and regulatory agencies to enhance program enrollment and reputation.
- Ensure regional compliance with all legal, licensing, and regulatory mandates, and lead remedial actions where necessary.
- Act as the organization’s representative to external stakeholders and authorities within the region.
- Steer regional initiatives aimed at improving program effectiveness and operational excellence across all sites.
- Lead and support regional leadership teams to meet business and quality objectives.
- Use performance metrics and data to evaluate program outcomes and drive continuous improvement.
- Develop and oversee operational policies, procedures, and best practice guidelines.
- Support data-driven decision-making by guiding rigorous data collection and analysis efforts.
- Collaborate with community partners to advance regional goals.
- Work with HR partners to address regional staffing plans, recruitment, retention, and professional development.
- Provide leadership, mentoring, and evaluation for site leaders and management teams.
- Promote a culture of collaboration and high performance aligned with organizational priorities.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises regional site and school leaders as well as department heads, and indirectly oversees all site-based staff through these direct reports.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Education, Healthcare Administration, Organizational Leadership, Public Administration, or related field required; Master’s preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in regional operations, multi-site management, or leadership roles, with at least 5 years at a senior leadership level.
- Strong track record in operational, financial, and organizational leadership.
- Experience managing multi-site teams and cross-functional programs in educational or healthcare environments.
- Proven capabilities in budgeting, compliance management, and organizational operations.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Preferred experience in organizational growth, expansion, or change management initiatives.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and operational data systems or electronic medical records for reporting and analytics is advantageous.
Physical and Working Conditions
- Occasional lifting or moving items up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent periods of sitting, walking, speaking, and listening.
- Proficiency with computers and standard office technology.
- Visual and manual dexterity sufficient for reading and writing tasks.
- Role requires regional travel between multiple program locations.
- Standard business hours Monday through Friday with additional hours and travel as demanded by the role.
- Work environments include office, school/classroom, and on-site program settings across multiple sites.
