Role Overview
The Recruiter will manage the end-to-end hiring process, including sourcing candidates, maintaining recruitment records, and ensuring a superior candidate experience aligned with TransWest's values. The position is based in Seattle's SODO area with occasional travel to Everett and Redmond facilities.

Primary Responsibilities
- Identify and attract qualified candidates using online platforms, referrals, and direct outreach, especially for transportation and support roles
- Screen resumes to match candidate qualifications and company values
- Conduct structured phone interviews assessing skills, motivation, reliability, and interpersonal compatibility
- Evaluate professionalism, communication skills, and dependability
- Coordinate interview scheduling and maintain clear communication among stakeholders
- Organize Driver Road Tests and manage subsequent follow-up
- Maintain recruitment trackers for onboarding progress, interview schedules, and referral programs
- Manage candidate records in Paycom HRIS and oversee onboarding steps
- Initiate and track background checks including criminal, motor vehicle records, and drug tests
- Ensure completion and accuracy of compliance documentation, coordinating with compliance departments
- Extend employment offers with clarity and enthusiasm regarding role and benefits
- Guide new hires through paperwork and onboarding, serving as primary contact until orientation
- Support orientation sessions and initial onboarding activities
- Collaborate with HR, Safety, and Operations teams to ensure smooth transition from hiring to start date
- Keep the applicant tracking system current with statuses, notes, and reports
- Recommend and implement improvements in hiring and onboarding processes
- Embody and promote TransWest’s culture and values throughout the candidate experience
- Stay informed about organizational structure, company policies, and employment law compliance
- Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
- At least one year of experience in talent acquisition or human resources, or an associate’s/bachelor’s degree or certificate in HR or related field
- Transportation industry experience is preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong interpersonal skills with a customer service orientation
- Preferred knowledge of Department of Transportation regulations, background check processes, and drug testing protocols
- Proficient English communication skills
- Ability to work independently and accept direction
