Team Overview
The Office Services team at BCE provides a broad spectrum of support functions including venue and building security management, travel coordination, fleet and communication systems oversight, records management, reception operations, dispatch and insurance services.
Position Summary
We are looking for a detail-focused, proactive Records Assistant to join the Records Management team. This hands-on role involves organizing, cataloguing, and preparing physical records for transfer to secure off-site storage. The position offers a structured work environment within a cooperative Corporate Services team.

- Work Location: O’Shea Centre, 19 Lovedale Street, Wilston (with occasional travel to BCE schools for records assessment)
- Employment Status: Full-time on-site, Fixed Term from August 2026 to June 2027
- Salary Range: $69,681 - $78,745 plus superannuation

Primary Responsibilities
- Organize, catalogue, and prepare paper-based records for transfer to off-site storage facilities
- Deliver general administrative assistance to the Records Management team across multiple tasks
- Maintain precise records through data entry into systems, spreadsheets, and databases
- Produce required documentation and reports
- Use established protocols to address and resolve inquiries
- Engage effectively with internal and external contacts to provide information and respond to questions
- Collaborate with colleagues to resolve operational issues as they emerge
Candidate Profile
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and familiar with the Office 365 suite
- Adaptable, flexible, proactive, with strong ability to prioritise daily tasks
- Excellent attention to detail ensuring accuracy in administrative and recordkeeping duties
- Comfortable handling data entry and working with various systems and spreadsheets
- Physical capability to lift archive boxes weighing 20kg or more
- Experienced in working cooperatively with diverse stakeholders at various organisational levels
- Able to adhere to organisational policies and procedural guidelines effectively
- Previous experience in records management, administrative roles, or school support roles is advantageous but not a strict requirement
Eligibility and Compliance
- Must be legally eligible to work in Australia for the duration of this contract
- Willing and able to obtain a National Criminal History check before employment commencement
- Possession of a current Queensland Driver’s Licence and readiness to travel as needed
