QA/QC Engineer - Mechanical, Civil, Electrical & Instrumentation

Overview

This role focuses on quality assurance and quality control activities across Mechanical, Civil, and Electrical & Instrumentation disciplines, ensuring materials, welding, and piping systems meet stringent standards and contractual requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Verify materials and mill test certificates (MTC) to confirm adherence to codes and company standards during Inspection and Material Inspection Request (IMIR) clearance.
• Execute welding procedure qualification tests and maintain comprehensive Procedure Qualification Records (PQR) for structural, tank, and piping works.
• Develop Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and conduct qualification tests onsite as needed.
• Assess welding consumables by reviewing Batch Test Certificates (BTCs) and perform necessary onsite qualification testing.
• Prepare job procedures and Inspection Test Plans (ITP) relevant to structural, piping, and tank works.
• Conduct periodic internal site audits to ensure compliance with quality processes.
• Visually inspect fit-up and welded joints across structural, tank, and piping projects.
• Monitor welding through surveillance inspections before, during, and after welding operations.
• Carry out all Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) inspections and document inspection outcomes thoroughly.
• Liaise with customers daily to coordinate inspections and address their requirements.
• Prepare, review, and verify piping test packages onsite, including documenting and addressing pending items.
• Secure NDT clearance for piping test packages.
• Witness hydrostatic testing of tank and piping systems to validate integrity and compliance.
