Role Overview

Chubb is inviting applications for a Property Underwriting Assistant to join the New Zealand Property Underwriting team. This full-time onsite position in Auckland offers a chance to develop underwriting expertise while enhancing client service quality. The role centers on policy administration and comprehensive support to underwriters, encompassing collaboration with brokers and diverse placements including Indigenous and multinational accounts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary contact for processing Property business.
  • Compile and prepare underwriting files for policy renewals and new business submissions.
  • Enter and manage data within underwriting systems, including submission information, policy specifications, claims records, and catastrophe modelling data.
  • Generate quotes following underwriting directives.
  • Collaborate with internal departments such as Credit Control, Claims, and Risk Management.
  • Follow up with brokers to obtain missing documents and coordinate premium invoicing.
  • Process endorsements and premium adjustments, including quoting and binding.
  • Support reconciliation of overdue financial items.
  • Maintain complete, precise, and audit-compliant underwriting files.
  • Keep accurate records of policies and workflow status.
  • Contribute as a subject matter expert to the development and testing of business processing systems.
  • Perform additional duties assigned by the New Zealand Property Manager.
