Position Overview

The Program Executive acts as a senior leader responsible for overseeing the delivery of a diverse portfolio of complex, customer-centric programs. This role guides project execution from contract award through engineering, procurement, installation, commissioning/start-up, and closure, ensuring consistent adherence to safety, quality, schedule, cost, and customer satisfaction objectives. The role serves as the primary executive interface with customers, building trust through transparent communication and reliable governance.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage delivery performance across multiple programs/projects with focus on safety, quality, schedule, cost control, margin, and customer satisfaction.
• Lead project execution from kickoff to closeout, promoting planning discipline and readiness.
• Maintain governance structures such as steering committees and executive reviews to keep stakeholders aligned.
• Foster strong relationships with customer executives and internal cross-functional teams, including engineering, supply chain, fabrication, finance, and commissioning.
• Collaborate with commercial teams to translate scope and estimates into executable delivery plans aligned with customer expectations.
• Implement program controls, including schedule integration and cost tracking, emphasizing forecasting accuracy and financial monitoring.
• Oversee risk, issue, and change management with clear escalation paths and rigorous scope control to protect margins.
• Promote a culture of safety and quality, driving improvements through retrospectives and root-cause analysis.
• Develop leadership capabilities by coaching Program and Project Managers and building a scalable high-performing delivery team.
• Regularly travel up to 50% to customer sites within the United States.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business-related field or equivalent professional experience.
• At least 10 years of progressive leadership experience managing complex customer-facing programs, including those involving field installation and commissioning.
• Demonstrated success managing multiple concurrent high-value programs.
• PMP or equivalent project/program management certification is required.
• Strong background in control systems integration technologies such as PLC, HMI, SCADA, DCS, industrial networking, instrumentation, and electrical systems.
• Executive presence with strong influencing and communication skills directed at senior internal and external stakeholders.
• Financial expertise covering budgeting, forecasting (including cost-to-complete and estimate-at-completion), and margin management.
• Proven operational and program control discipline across cross-functional teams.
• Experience in Thermo Systems’ key markets, including energy, life sciences, manufacturing, mission critical, or industrial sectors.
• Familiarity with regulated environments that require formal documentation and adherence to quality systems.
