Role Overview

As a Production Shift Supervisor reporting to the Production Manager, you will oversee production activities and maintain quality standards in timber frame kit manufacturing. You are responsible for ensuring production targets for hourly and shift periods are met, whilst fostering continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct and organize production within the timber frame factory.
  • Optimize throughput and efficient use of materials and labor.
  • Manage recruitment, onboarding, training, development, and performance of the production team.
  • Handle attendance, time management, and workforce discipline.
  • Promote continuous improvement culture.
  • Ensure work adheres to health and safety standards.
  • Conduct quality control monitoring and verification.
  • Supervise accuracy of manufacturing and loading documentation.
  • Encourage a focus on right-first-time quality.
  • Coordinate with maintenance to complete tasks and address issues promptly.

Required Experience and Skills

  • Previous experience in timber frame manufacturing, production, or manufacturing environment, ideally in supervisory or senior operator role.
  • In-depth understanding of production workflows, quality standards, and processes.
  • Proven ability to lead teams in a busy manufacturing setting.
  • Competence in identifying and resolving operational or quality problems quickly.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Aptitude for shift work and adapting to variable production needs.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Dependability, flexibility, enthusiasm, and self-motivation with team motivation capability.
  • Attention to detail and results-oriented with the ability to work collaboratively.

Contract Details

  • Employment Type: Permanent
  • Work Hours: Full time, 38.75 hours per week, shift rotation system.
  • Working Days: Monday to Friday
