Role overview
Catalyx is hiring a Production Operative for its Longford site in County Longford, Ireland. The position supports the manufacture, assembly, and quality checking of modular and prefabricated building parts used in offsite production. This is a structured, process-led role for someone who can work accurately, safely, and as part of a team.
Previous exposure to factory or construction work would be helpful, but it is not mandatory. Full training will be provided to people who are dependable, willing to learn, and committed to maintaining strong standards.

What you will do
- Carry out assembly and production tasks in line with issued instructions and standard methods.
- Follow all health, safety, and PPE requirements at all times.
- Use tools and equipment safely after completing the required training.
- Support material cutting, shaping, and handling activities as needed.
- Perform routine checks to help maintain consistent product quality.
- Move raw materials and finished goods safely within the facility.
- Assist with loading and unloading deliveries when required.
- Store materials correctly in accordance with internal procedures.
- Report hazards, unsafe behaviour, and any process issues without delay.
- Keep work areas clean, organised, and safe.
- Work closely with colleagues to meet daily output goals.
- Follow production plans and work instructions precisely.
- Look for ways to improve workflow and efficiency.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and workstations in good condition.
- Carry out basic cleaning and routine upkeep of machinery after training.
- Dispose of waste responsibly and in line with environmental practices.
- Take on other reasonable duties as needed.
What we are looking for
This role suits someone who can work reliably in a manufacturing environment, follow clear procedures, and take pride in safe, high-quality output. Experience in manufacturing, construction, or similar hands-on work is desirable, but not essential. A practical understanding of safe working methods is useful, though full training will be provided.
You should be comfortable learning new tasks across different production activities, have a strong focus on safety and quality, and be punctual, dependable, and committed to doing a good job. Good communication, teamwork, and physical fitness for manual handling are important. Forklift or machinery experience would be an advantage, but it is not required.
