Production In-Charge (PEB)

Role Overview

The Production In-Charge will oversee the entire fabrication process for Pre-Engineered Building (PEB) structures, managing from raw-material planning through to final dispatch. This position requires expert technical knowledge, leadership capabilities, and a focus on maintaining quality, safety, and efficient production.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage daily, weekly, and monthly fabrication schedules aligned with project deadlines.
• Supervise all fabrication operations including cutting, drilling, welding, assembly, painting, and dispatch activities.
• Verify Bills of Materials (BOM) and technical drawings from the Design & Planning team prior to execution.
• Allocate workforce, machinery, methods, and materials according to project priorities and timelines.
• Implement and monitor the Quality Assurance Plan (QAP) and maintain inspection checklists at each fabrication phase.
• Ensure machinery calibration, preventive maintenance, and readiness at all times.
• Collaborate closely with Design Engineers, Procurement, and Project teams for technical clarifications and coordination.
• Track daily production volumes, wastage, and machine utilization rates, generating relevant reports.
• Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and maintain 5S workplace organization standards on the shop floor.
• Oversee the quality control of painting thickness, galvanization, and packing standards before shipment.
• Provide mentorship and skills training to supervisors and machine operators to enhance performance.
• Participate in management meetings and propose improvements for production processes.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Production, or Industrial Engineering.
• 3 to 5 years of practical experience in PEB fabrication or heavy structural steel manufacturing.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and ISO 9001 quality management processes is advantageous.

Technical Skills & Capabilities

• Comprehensive knowledge and proven track record managing end-to-end PEB fabrication with a capacity of 150 to 200 tons monthly.
• Strong understanding of steel structural designs, welding standards (IS / AWS).
• Leadership ability to manage multi-shift teams effectively.
• Excellent coordination skills with Design, Purchase, and Site teams.
• Detail-oriented with analytical skills focusing on quality, timelines, and cost efficiency.
• Proficient with MS Office, Google Sheets, and ERP software for production tracking.

Production Capacity & Delivery Goals

• Capability to plan and execute fabrication for up to six project lots simultaneously each month.
• Accountable for producing 350 to 500 tons of fabricated steel monthly with an on-time dispatch rate exceeding 98%.
