Production Floor Manager

Overview

We are seeking a Production Floor Manager to lead and oversee the entire production operations at our furniture manufacturing facility. This role requires planning and executing production schedules, managing panel processing and sofa production departments, and ensuring timely achievement of targets with high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Design daily and weekly production plans based on orders and dispatch timelines.
• Distribute tasks between the panel processing and sofa production units.
• Supervise panel processing activities including cutting, edge banding, drilling, routing, CNC, and grooving, ensuring compliance with design specifications and material accuracy.
• Manage sofa production phases such as frame preparation, cutting, stitching, foam application, upholstery, assembly, and finishing processes while maintaining design conformity and quality control.
• Oversee workforce allocation based on workload and skillsets, monitoring attendance, discipline, and productivity, and conducting training on production techniques and machinery use.
• Implement quality control measures throughout production stages, analyze defects and complaints, and enforce corrective and preventive actions.
• Monitor productivity by assessing output per worker and machine utilization, minimizing material wastage, and controlling production costs, including overtime.
• Ensure safe and proper operation of machinery, coordinate regular maintenance, and track machine downtime to reduce production disruptions.
• Coordinate with stores to guarantee timely receipt and availability of raw materials such as boards, fabric, foam, hardware, adhesives, validating requirements against production plans to prevent shortages or excess inventory.
• Maintain strict adherence to workplace safety protocols, PPE usage, and 5S organizational standards on the production floor, reporting and investigating incidents as necessary.
• Liaise continuously with production planning, design, purchasing, quality, maintenance, sales, and dispatch teams to communicate production statuses, address issues, and facilitate smooth material and product flow.
• Prepare and present daily production reports detailing performance metrics and conduct daily meetings for operational oversight and follow-ups.
• Drive process optimization by identifying bottlenecks, refining workflows, introducing standard operating procedures, and promoting improvements in quality, efficiency, cost-effectiveness, delivery, and safety.
