About the Company
Our client is a prominent manufacturing company based in Ireland seeking to appoint a Procurement Category Manager. This role presents a significant opportunity for an experienced procurement expert to take charge of essential spending categories, direct strategic sourcing efforts, manage supplier relationships, conduct commercial negotiations, and enhance procurement processes.
Position Overview
- Assume full responsibility for assigned procurement categories from sourcing through contract management.
- Conduct and lead RFx processes, supplier negotiations, and establish commercial agreements.
- Formulate sourcing strategies aimed at achieving cost reduction targets and ensuring supply chain reliability.
- Oversee supplier performance by implementing KPIs, conducting reviews, and maintaining ongoing relationship management.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to fulfill operational procurement requirements.
- Analyze expenditure data to pinpoint opportunities for continual optimization and improvement.
- Contribute to ERP system rollouts and optimize Procure-to-Pay workflows.
- Promote procurement best practices and refine existing procurement operations.
Candidate Profile and Requirements
- A minimum of five years' experience in procurement, category management, or commercial management roles.
- Background in sectors such as manufacturing, industrial, engineering, or construction.
- Proven expertise in negotiation, tendering processes, and contract management.
- Demonstrated success in managing supplier relationships and sourcing initiatives.
- Strong analytical capabilities and experience working with ERP platforms such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics.
- Excellent skills in stakeholder engagement and communication.
- Academic qualifications in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business, or related fields.
- Professional certifications including CIPS, IIIPM, or equivalent procurement qualifications are considered beneficial.
