Process Engineer - Energy & Chemical Sector

Overview

As a Process Engineer at Ecolab, you will be responsible for deploying customized chemical treatment solutions tailored for clients in the refinery and chemical processing industries. Your role focuses on delivering efficient treatments, managing projects that reduce clients' Total Cost of Operation (TCO), and providing responsive troubleshooting support for Ecolab's products and services. Since refinery and chemical plants operate continuously, flexibility to assist clients beyond normal working hours is necessary.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and implement chemical treatment programs at client sites, ensuring peak performance and rapid correction of any deviations.
• Provide regular, scheduled reports on chemical treatment program progress to clients.
• Manage chemical inventory and oversee replacement equipment parts to sustain uninterrupted operations.
• Conduct comprehensive monthly review sessions with clients to assess program effectiveness and explore improvements.
• Perform rigorous on-site analytical testing to detect and resolve off-specification issues.
• Collaborate with management in drafting chemical treatment proposals to improve client operations and participate in new application start-ups and evaluations.
• Develop value-added projects with clients geared toward lowering TCO through Ecolab products.
• Maintain strong client relationships through frequent interaction and effective communication.
• Qualify, coordinate, and supervise subcontractor performance to ensure smooth service delivery aligned with client expectations.
• Troubleshoot client challenges regarding chemical treatments and products, working jointly with team members to implement solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering alongside relevant industrial experience.
• Comfort and familiarity with servicing clients in the petrochemical sector.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills for clear engagement and reporting.
• Proficiency in preparing concise reports using standard laptop computing tools.
• Strong logical reasoning, practical problem-solving aptitude, and sound decision-making ability.
• Capability to handle multiple projects concurrently while maintaining schedules and troubleshooting issues effectively.
• Self-driven, goal-oriented, and capable of both independent work and team collaboration.
• Strict adherence to safety regulations typical of the petrochemical and client environments.
• Ability to commute to Jurong Island with a company vehicle provided; a valid Class 3 driving license is mandatory.
