Role Overview
Join the team at HMP Isle of Wight as an Operational Support Grade (OSG), playing a vital role in the smooth daily operation of a busy prison. Your duties will be broad, encompassing responsibilities such as managing security checks at the entrance, handling deliveries, supervising visitors, as well as monitoring phone calls and CCTV. The position combines administrative tasks with physical activities including lifting, carrying, and escorting vehicles around the prison grounds.
Driving and Shifts
Driving forms a key component of this role, therefore possessing a full, valid UK Driving Licence is essential. The working hours are varied, including night and weekend shifts to ensure continuous operation.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary for this role is 29,432 annually. The benefits package includes 25 days' annual leave increasing to 30 days after ten years, nine additional bank and public holidays, enrolment in a paid Level 2 apprenticeship in customer service, access to the Civil Service pension scheme, season ticket loans, retail discounts, an Employee Assistance Programme, and a Cycle to Work scheme.
