Power BI Analyst

Job Overview

We are seeking a Power BI Analyst to join a dynamic team in the Greater Cardiff Area, working onsite. This role involves transforming complex business demands into intuitive dashboards and valuable insights using the latest Microsoft data tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders to elicit and convert business requirements into analytical solutions.
• Create, maintain, and enhance Power BI reports, dashboards, and datasets at an enterprise level.
• Develop scalable and reusable data models applying best practices such as star schema design and performance tuning.
• Produce advanced Power BI components including DAX measures and calculated columns.
• Integrate data from diverse enterprise sources including SQL databases, data lakes, cloud platforms, Excel, and APIs.
• Guarantee accuracy, performance, and compliance with data governance standards in reporting solutions.
• Work seamlessly with both technical and non-technical teams to provide actionable business insights.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Extensive commercial experience with Microsoft Power BI Desktop and Service.
• In-depth knowledge of data modeling, Power Query, and DAX formulas.
• Strong proficiency with SQL and relational database systems.
• Practical experience with Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse Analytics, or Azure Data Factory is required.
• Understanding of fundamental data concepts including relationships, joins, and data transformation processes.
• Familiarity with REST APIs, JSON, and Microsoft Graph.
• Ability to clearly translate business problems into analytical approaches.
• Exceptional communication skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Awareness of data governance principles and best practice approaches for reporting.

Additional Details

Salary range for this position is £45,000 to £55,000. Immediate applications are welcomed.
