Role Responsibilities

  • Assist underwriting and portfolio management teams in overseeing portfolio company results and preparing documentation for board meetings, management discussions, and internal assessments.
  • Examine monthly financial reports, quarterly covenant compliance documents, and annual audited statements to detect performance trends, risks, and notable developments, sharing key findings with relevant teams.
  • Evaluate operating and financial outcomes relative to budgets and prior periods to identify main performance drivers and prospects for operational improvements.
  • Contribute to value enhancement projects across portfolio companies, including operational benchmarking, KPI management, working capital oversight, forecasting, and performance monitoring.
  • Monitor liquidity, cash flows, and borrowing base availability, highlighting and escalating significant risks to senior staff.
  • Ensure adherence to investment agreements, including financial covenants and reporting duties.
  • Support continual monitoring of portfolio firms facing operational or financial difficulties by data collection, analysis, and assisting with remedial planning.
  • Engage in special projects focusing on performance improvement, strategic initiatives, and operational analyses.
  • Maintain portfolio data within firm systems such as S&P Global iLEVEL and Wall Street Office, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
  • Create and maintain dashboards and KPI reports to assist investment committee materials, portfolio reviews, and management decisions.
  • Assist in quarterly valuation exercises by updating financial models, industry outlooks, and assumptions.
  • Prepare regular portfolio company reviews covering financial performances, risks, industry trends, and investment updates.
  • Respond to internal and investor queries with relevant analyses and supporting documents.
  • Help prepare financing and amendment memos for senior investment professional review.
  • Construct and maintain detailed financial models including three-statement models and 13-week cash flow forecasts to project performance under various scenarios.
  • Support investment professionals throughout the investment lifecycle: due diligence, closing, ongoing monitoring, post-closing reporting.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external advisors, including legal counsel, consultants, lenders, and portfolio management teams for financing and portfolio initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline with a strong academic record.
  • Between one and three years of relevant experience in sectors such as private equity, private credit, investment or corporate banking, valuation, consulting, or accounting.
  • Proficient financial modeling and analytical capabilities, especially using Microsoft Excel, including constructing or managing financial models.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and capacity to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Interest in leveraging AI technologies to enhance financial, industry, and investment analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, along with strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Highly motivated, intellectually curious, eager to learn, and able to thrive in a collaborative team setting.
  • Demonstrates a positive mindset, firm work ethic, and a sense of ownership over responsibilities.
