Role Overview
We seek an experienced Podcast Editor to join our dynamic and expanding studio team. The ideal candidate will transform long-form art and history discussions from raw recordings into polished episodes and engaging social media content, shaping both the visual and audio presentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead multi-camera video editing of studio sessions using Adobe Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve, mastering visual pacing to maintain natural and engaging flow during intellectual conversations.
- Integrate high-resolution artwork visuals and b-roll intuitively, sourcing correct assets and managing copyright clearances whenever necessary.
- Handle the entire podcast production cycle from scheduling and recording to final delivery efficiently.
- Create captivating short-form clips optimized for social platforms such as TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts to expand audience reach.
- Enhance audio quality by applying professional EQ, compression, and leveling techniques to ensure warm, rich studio vocals.
- Use industry-standard audio restoration tools like iZotope RX to remove anomalies such as mouth clicks, plosives, and background noise.
- Meticulously mix dual-voice recordings to eliminate microphone bleed and crosstalk, achieving a clean, isolated stereo sound.
- Incorporate atmospheric music beds and subtle environmental sounds to deepen the immersive experience of art-historical narratives.
Ideal Experience and Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in editing and producing audio-visual podcasts with a portfolio showcasing previous projects.
- Strong enthusiasm and knowledge of podcasts, particularly relating to art and history.
- An artistic sensibility to present fine art elegantly and respectfully on screen.
- Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve, and advanced skills with a Digital Audio Workstation such as Audition, Pro Tools, or Reaper.
- Excellent organizational skills to reliably manage workflows and deliver fully published, scheduled episodes from raw studio files.
