About the Role
Join the Road Maintenance & Resilience team at Transport for NSW as a Plant Operator based in Goolgowi, NSW. This permanent, full-time position involves operating various small plant equipment essential to road construction and maintenance projects that impact the communities of New South Wales.
In addition to plant operation, you will perform routine and complex manual labour tasks safely using powered and non-powered hand tools. The role also includes undertaking Road Worker Grade 3 duties as required and recording defects in the asset management system.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a variety of small plant machinery to support efficient road infrastructure maintenance and construction.
- Perform both routine and complex manual labour tasks safely using hand tools and powered equipment.
- Drive plant equipment as required during operations.
- Carry out Road Worker Grade 3 duties when assigned.
- Track and log asset defects in the management system accurately.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Reside within 100 kilometers of Goolgowi.
- Proven experience or competence equivalent to Road Worker Grade 3 standards.
- Strong literacy and numeracy skills to complete records and effectively communicate within the team.
- Experience in civil construction or possession of a Certificate III in Civil Construction or equivalent qualification.
- Current Construction Industry White Card.
- Traffic Controller Cards (Implement Traffic Control Plan and Prepare Work Zone), or willingness to obtain these within three months of employment.
- Valid Australian driver’s license (Class C), at minimum Provisional P1 level.
- Preparedness to comply with any required licensing or ticketing mandated internally or legislatively.
