About the Role
ALFIRAS General Contracting is seeking a skilled Planning Manager to lead project scheduling and monitoring within our construction projects based in Abu Dhabi. The selected professional will ensure projects align with approved timelines and contractual requirements by overseeing planning functions, tracking progress, and mitigating risks.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain detailed project baseline schedules aligned to contractual milestones and project needs.
- Lead and manage the scheduling process across multiple construction assignments.
- Track project progress against schedules, identifying delays, slippages, and risks promptly.
- Generate weekly and monthly progress reports, dashboards, and schedule updates for senior management review.
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Construction Managers, Engineering, Procurement, Quantity Surveyors, and other teams to ensure timely execution.
- Analyze project performance and suggest corrective or recovery actions when necessary.
- Design and monitor recovery strategies and mitigation plans for any delayed activities.
- Review subcontractor and contractor schedules ensuring compatibility with the overall program.
- Conduct critical path analysis to evaluate the impact of changes or delays on completion dates.
- Implement progress measurement techniques and guarantee accurate performance reporting.
- Support compiling extension of time claims and delay analyses as requested.
- Ensure schedules are continuously updated reflecting site progress and approved project modifications.
- Engage in progress meetings and provide clear schedule-related insights to upper management.
- Adhere strictly to company planning standards, project specifications, and contractual duties.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related engineering field.
- At least 3 years of direct experience as a Planning Manager within construction contracting.
- Substantial background in the construction contracting sector, preferably within the UAE.
- Current residence in the UAE is required.
- Comprehensive understanding of construction project planning, progress tracking, and delay analyses.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 project management software is mandatory.
- Strong skills in MS Excel and various project reporting tools.
- Experience in creating baseline schedules, recovery plans, look-ahead programs, and progress documentation.
- Good grasp of construction practices, project controls, and contractual milestone management.
- Excellent leadership, communication, analytical, and coordination abilities.
Preferred Profile
The ideal candidate is proactive, with substantial experience working in main contractor environments handling complex projects. They should be able to independently manage project planning and reliably inform senior leadership of project status.
