Role overview
Archbold Home Health Services, part of LHC Group and the broader Optum family, is hiring a Physical Therapist Assistant to support home-based care in Bainbridge, Georgia. This position includes a $7,500 sign-on bonus for qualified applicants.
In this role, you will carry out treatment sessions, teach exercises, and provide patient education that supports recovery and overall well-being. Your work will follow the established plan of care and the direction of the supervising Physical Therapist.
What you'll do
- Carry out physical therapy treatment only within the treatment plan established by the supervising PT and within your state’s practice rules for home care.
- Perform only the procedures you are trained and authorized to complete, and share any suggested plan-of-care changes with the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Guide patients through active and passive exercises, muscle re-education, gait training, functional training, ADL support, transfer training, safety training, and prosthetic training.
- Track patient responses to treatment, document changes in condition, and report updates to the supervising PT, nurse supervisor, and/or physician as needed.
- Coordinate with other members of the care team when appropriate to support the patient’s care plan.
- Educate patients, family members, caregivers, and other healthcare team members on therapy-related topics that fall within the PTA scope of practice.
Required qualifications
- Active license, registration, or certification to assist with physical therapy practice in the state where you will work.
- Current CPR certification.
- Valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and access to a dependable vehicle or public transportation.
- Ability to work with patients in any home environment regardless of age, race, creed, color, sex, disability, or financial situation.
- Availability to work on a weekend rotation.
Preferred abilities
- Comfort with the physical demands of patient care, including lifting, transferring, and helping patients move safely.
Compensation and benefits
Pay is determined by factors such as local market conditions, education, experience, and certifications.
